The dolls were produced by Dakin after the Russ Berrie Company bought the rights to the Applause name. The tag does NOT mention "Applause" and reads "® DAKIN, NEWHALL CA 91321, www.dakin.com". Dakin was only able to sell this doll to retailers through March 2005.
